Initially my fitness results were as expected for the amount of physical activity I undertook, but of concern was my hip to waist ratio that put me in a danger zone for later in life. I was shocked and thought it couldn’t really happen to me, but considered that even if I thought it couldn’t, it would be a good idea to lower the risk anyways.
In the past 8 months, starting with one session a week and then moving to two sessions a week, I have lost 10kgs, gained more strength that I know what to do with and my stamina is amazing. I managed 48 push-ups in 60 seconds, my run time dropped over 2 minutes for the 2.4km run, my stretch result was amazing and all other results were excellent too. My recent medical has great results, hip to waist ratio is excellent, cholesterol was the lowest it’s ever been, blood pressure is excellent, it’s all good.
If you’re not convinced about having a personal trainer, I certainly understand. I wasn’t. There are a lot of trainers out there charging all different rates, providing all different levels of training and knowledge. I need someone who I can talk to and who listens to me and just doesn’t provide lip service. I don’t want a trainer who walks me through all the machines at the gym, as I can do that. I need to know why a certain exercise is good and what it does, I like to know these things as if I understand it, I will enjoy it more. Deb knows the ins and outs and will fill in all the blanks.
Deb will take time to get to know you and what you need out of the training. She’ll design achievable routines for you. Yes, they are hard, but worth it as the fitness assessments allow you to see the improvements. She will listen and understand that some days are better than others, plus she’s got a good sense of humour. And she’ll help you realise your potential.
Having worked with a number of trainers over the years I can honestly say that Deb is far superior to all of them.
She gets the most out of me in every session, without me realising how hard I am working. I only realise the next day when literally everything hurts! I am looking forward to developing a long standing relationship with her.
I’ve had lots of trainers and consequently I now have pretty high expectations. Deb has met and exceeded all of those expectations.
First and foremost, I want to be pushed and pushed hard by a trainer and Deb has pressed me well beyond my comfort zones. However, I take my running pretty seriously and cannot afford to get injured. So for me, Deb’s emphasis on good technique and exercises that are functional, that strengthen the core and bolster resilience are also important.
Deb knows her stuff and has an endless bag of tricks, using different approaches and techniques to vary the program, and the exercise program we are working to was designed to meet my objectives in a strategic and targeted way.
Take the challenge – get destroyed by Debzillah and have a bit of fun along the way!
I like the format of your sessions and how you mix things up so I am not doing the same thing every time. The circuits where you make me jump over or onto steps are probably my favourite as they are a combination of different areas and really push my heart rate up.
I am enjoying the fact that I can do things that I never would have dreamed to be possible.

Kylie worked hard towards her goals, training with Deb for a year and has the results to prove it. In one year, Kylie shed 28KG, reduced her BMI from 36.11 to 25.75, gained flexibility and strength, and reduced her body fat percentage from 37.2% to 26.8% – just incredible!
