It Hatched in Hong Kong

So you’ve probably noticed by all the footage, links and video that I recently headed over to Hong Kong – all on my very lonesome – to compete in the International Poledance Championships. And you’ve probably also heard that I won my division.

The media coverage that followed was completely unexpected and overwhelming, almost as much as the experience itself. March 15, 2012 is a date that I will never forget. It was the day I got to share the stage with the best pole dancers in the world. An incredible dream, a story which included turns like Jenyne Butterfly saving me from certain defeat by lending me her grip aid. A belated celebration of Chelle Haffner’s birthday, the hilarity that is Carlie Hunter and Travis Scott – and meeting Marlow Fisken. Everyone was amazing. The vibe was incredible. A once in a lifetime experience, mostly because of the feeling. Definitely the best night of my life.

So what’s on the agenda now? In less than 2 weeks time, I will be in the Glasshouse Mountains, racing my little heart out at the Australian National Paracycling Road Championships. My second ever time trial. My first ever road race. Unknowns. Adventure. EXCITEMENT. And, thankfully, great support. I’m not going it alone – I’ll have the Mickster there beside me, helping me out as only a great team mate and exceptional friend can.

The week after that: AUSTRALIAN POLE FITNESS CHAMPIONSHIPS! Feature performance and workshop.

I’m loving all this travel!

‘Til next time Xx
